At the beginning of 2016, I undertook a self-initiated group project to create a graphics exhibition at Art’s University Bournemouth. In order to create this exhibition, we needed to express our love for Graphic Design by contacting our favourite designers and asking them to donate work. Main the challenge for this was communication, how could we successfully demonstrate our love for a designer’s work without seeming generic.
In a team of 11 people, over a period of 7 months, we contacted 30 designers. As a result of this we received a generous donation of work from Anthony Burrill, Sagmeister, Babycham and many other designers. Whilst battling time with this extra-curricular project, we designed a logo, a series of posters and a film that supported the exhibition.
From this opportunity and experience, I learnt the importance of communication and how effective a group can achieve project with discipline and dedication.
